for harpsichord and chamber orchestra is the second composition in the cycle inaugurated by And Night Will Be No More for accordion and chamber orchestra (2010). Both works have been written for a solo instrument and chamber orchestra with an identical ensemble of instruments. What they have in common is first and foremost the reference to the Book of Revelation, from which I borrowed the titles. The text of the Apocalypse, though full of terrifying symbolic visions, is also imbued with genuine hope which makes possible what is otherwise incomprehensible. The music is an image of that hope.
The work, commissioned by the City of Wrocław, is dedicated to Andrzej Chłopecki, who inspired this composition.
