Rubenis, Edgars
Latvian composer born in 1983 in Riga. He currently lives and works in the Netherlands. He obtained a master’s degree from the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he studied with Gabriel Paiuk and Peter Adriaansz. He began his career by playing experimental music on the guitar, and now writes for various acoustic and electronic instruments, focusing on the relationships that emerge among the structural components of musical actions: composed sound, listening, environment, and temporal progression.
