Bascou, Charles
Educated as an engineer, self-taught as a musician. He specialises in researching technologies for music and performing arts at IRCAM. As a computer music producer he has collaborated with composers, musicians and other GMEM Marseille artists-residents, such as Reinhold Friedl, Tristan Murail, eRikm, JeanChristophe Feldhandler, Nicolas Maigret, Katharina Rosenberger, Yann Robin, Natacha Muslera, Pom Bouvier B., Martin Matalon, David Merlo, Mauro Lanza, Alessandro Bosetti, and Sébastien Roux. He himself composes and improvises music, as well as creating sound performances. In 2009 he began to work with Collectif Large Bande (Patrick Portella, Jean Luc erminarias, Josef Amerveil, and Olivier Renouf), which explores forms of electroacoustic music presentation (Université Sonore du Printemps - CDN de Caen, Festival Nuit d'Hiver - GRIM Marseille). Also since 2009, he has developed solo music performances focussing on the gradation of energy and the auditory experience presented in mutually opposed masses, frequently submitted to absurd systematisation (Festival Variable(s) - Bourbaki rec., Rencontres d'Art en Marche - Laisser Le Passage Libre). He has also collaborated with choreographer Mathilde Monfreux on music for shows such as Tube and Last Lost Lust. In 2012 he joined the music label daath records' solo projects executed in Marseilles (such as Transistor, 2016).
