Krzyżanowski, Marcin

Cellist, composer and performer; new art theorist. He graduated from Leon Solecki's cello class at the Music Academy in Cracow. He also took private lessons of composition from Bogusław Schaeffer. He has cooperated with authors of performances and prepared fringe projects combining audio and visual arts. He is the author of original TV broadcasts dedicated to contemporary avant-garde art. In 1992-2000 he was a coauthor of Polish state TV's cycles entitled Chimera, Night of Cicadas, Art­Night, Marcin K.'s Hypermultimedia Frequency Band, and Folk Sounds.

He also carries out creative music projects such as graphic score productions, as well as performing intuitive music. He was the initiator of Res Factum, a cycle combining verbal text with live sound. He creates autonomous compositions, as well as music for films, theatre, television, and the radio.
