Strzelec, Szymon Stanisław

Composer and sound artist born in Cracow in 1990. He studied classical, electroacoustic and algorithmic composition at the Music Academy in Cracow and developed his composition skills at masterclasses with Caspar Johannes Walter, Enno Poppe, Stefan Prins, Mark Andre, Clemens Gadenstätter, Jennifer Walshe, Johannes Kreidler, Manos Tsangaris, Uroš Rojko, and Oliver Schneller.

His works have been performed by ensembles from Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Ukraine at numerous local and international festivals including Warsaw Autumn, CIME/ICEM International Electroacoustic Music Festival and Conference in Denton, Texas, Donaueschinger Musiktage Next Generation, Journées Internationales de la Musique Electroacoustique et de la Créativité (JIMEC) in Amiens, Musica Polonica Nova, Musica Electronica Nova, International Courses for New Music in Kyiv, Young Composers' Meeting in Apeldoorn, and many others. Since 2012 he has organised numerous new music concerts, conferences and open lectures. He is a cofounder of ELEMENTI, a research seminar dedicated to most recent music. His main interests lie in the fields of xenharmonic music, neuroaesthetics, and the construction of new instruments.
