Kmiecik, Iwona
Singer, composer, pianist and producer, she graduated in jazz singing from the Music Academy in Katowice (2011). Her teachers have included Judy Bady, Gerald Trottman, Peter Francis, and Lora Szafran. She is currently a PhD student at the Music Academy in Łódź. In 2013 she released her debut album The Colour of Nobility (4everMusic/Warner) with her original compositions. She coauthored the vocal parts in the oratorio A Memoir of the Warsaw Uprising after Miron Białoszewski (directed by Krystyna Janda). She inaugurated the Summer Jazz Academy in Łodź in 2014 with a concert of Jerzy Milian’s music in her own arrangements. She won the Grand Prix of the Krokus International Jazz Festival in Jelenia Góra and the Main Prize of the National Review of Jazz and Blues Ensembles in Gdynia.
