Styczyński, Michał

He studied with Stefan Kamasa at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. In 1992–95, as a member of the Józef Elsner Quartet, he won the Polish edition of the Motorola Music Individuality Competition (Warsaw–Geneva, 1992), 1st Prize at the Young Concert Artist Competition in Leipzig (1994), and was finalist of the American edition of the same competition in New York (1995) as well as award winner at the EBU Young Musicians’ Competition in Bratislava (1995). With the Elsner Quartet, he attended masterclasses run by members of the Leipzig, Amadeus, Camerata, Juilliard, and Tokyo string quartets. Since 1996, he has cooperated as a freelancer with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra.
