born 1957 in Frankfurt. He studied the double bass with Wolfgang Stert at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt and with Fernando Grillo in Perugia. He is the co-founder of Ensemble Aventure Freiburg, and a guest performer with Ensemble Modern and Klangforum Wien. He is also a composer: his works are performed notably by Pellegrini Quartett, Ensemble Aventure and Schola Heidelberg.
