has established himself as one of Sweden’s most sought-after conductors. A regular guest with all the major Swedish orchestras, he has also appeared with major symphony orchestras throughout Europe. He was Principal Conductor of the chamber orchestra Musica Vitae until 2006, with which he has toured Spain and the United States. He held a position as First Guest Conductor with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra in 2002–07, and until 2004 had a similar position with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, where he participated on numerous CD recordings. He was a Principal Conductor and Artistic Director for the Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra, the contemporary music ensemble Norrbotten NEO, and the Piteå Chamber Opera until 2012. Petter Sundkvist has conducted more than 100 premiere performances of contemporary music and over 30 opera productions in a wide range of venues.
