Mandillo Perseu

was born in 1984 in Lisbon. He started his film directing studies in 2001 by taking a course with the New York Film Academy at the Lá Fémis Film School in Paris. He then furthered his studies at the Portuguese National Film and Theatre School (ESTC) and the London Metropolitan University where he concluded his BA (hons) with a First Class Degree in 2006. In 2007 he took another directing course with the dffb school at the Gulbenkian Foundation as part of the Gulbenkian Creativity and Artistic Creation Programme.

Alongside this, he has developed several projects such as television advertisement spots, the video opera O itinerário do sal (2007–08), dozens of interviews to Portuguese composers, documentaries and also several short story film productions like Anna (2005), Daphne (2006) and A Way for Dancing.

In 2008 he went back to London to specialize in 3D animation and visual effects for film at Escape Studios. Since then his work has increasingly focused on visual effects for short films, multimedia installations, advertisement and visualization for architecture.

In 2012 he worked as a senior digital compositor for a stereo animated feature film in Guangzhou. Most recently he moved to Copenhagen to work as a VFX artist at a production company, while still working freelance on other projects like the upcoming opera A Laugh to Cry.
