Frąckiewicz Maciej
Born in Białystok in 1988. He completed his secondary education at the Witold Lutosławski High School of Music in Białystok in the accordion class of Jerzy Kozłowski. In 2012 he graduated with distinction from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the accordion class of Klaudiusz Baran. During the years 2010 –2011 he took part in the Socrates–Erasmus programme at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona in the class of Iñaki Alberdi. At present he is continuing his studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold in Germany at the postgraduate Konzertexamen course in the class of Grzegorz Stopa. He has participated in masterclasses at home and abroad, working with masters such as W. L. Puchnowski, Y. Shishkin, A. Dmitriev, I. Al–berdi, S. Hussong, C. Jacomucci, M. Bonnay and J. Berger. He has won prizes at prestigious international accordion competitions in Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Italy and Spain.
The long list of his competition successes includes the 1st Prize and Grand Prix at the International Accordion Competition in Poprad, Slovakia (2003), 1st Prize at the International Festival of Accordion Music in Przemyśl (2003 and 2004), the Main Prize at the 20th- and 21st-Century Music Competition for Young Performers in Radziejowice (2009), 1st Prize and two special prizes at the M. Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2009), 1st Prize at the Carlo Civardi International Accordion Competition in Val Tidone, Italy (2010), special prize at the International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Cracow (in duet with Magdalena Bojanowicz; 2010), 1st Prize at the Andrzej Krzanowski International Accordion Prize in CzechowiceDziedzice (2010). In 2010 he represented Polish Radio at the International Forum of Young Performers organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) – “New Talent”. He has also received many scholarships, including that of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, in 2007 and 2010, for outstanding artistic achievement.
An important part of his work involves cooperation with composers such as Paweł Szymański, Dariusz Przybylski, Cezary Duchnowski, Wojciech Ziemowit Zych and Wojciech Blecharz.
He has appeared as a soloist with symphony orchestras, including National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, the Podlasie Philharmonic in Białystok, Zabrze Philharmonic, Szczecin Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia and Radom Chamber Orchestra. He collaborates with the orchestras of the National Philharmonic and with Sinfonia Iuventus.
