Stowarzyszenie Kultury i Edukacji (The Culture and Education Association)
was established in 1993 by a group of scientists, artists and psychologists. It administers a primary school (known as “Okopowa”), a junior high and upper secondary school (known as “Foksal”), and a Cultural Centre, which today has its premises at the “Artistic Apartment Block Foksal 11”. These institutions follow authorial cultural and educational programmes, and devise their own subject methodologies. During the nineteen years of their existence they have worked with nearly a hundred prominent artists and cultural institutions, and produced several hundred artistic events and programmes. Their teaching methods have been the subject of lectures and workshops at a number of university pedagogy departments, for over a thousand students, numerous methodology advisers and employees of regional education departments, as well as more than a thousand teachers from throughout Poland. Specialist literature refers to the schools run by the Culture and Education Association as among those with the most progressive teaching programmes, as well as being the most interesting in their approach to teaching and psychology. They are characterised by the highest standards of teaching and youth development, and their cultural activities meet the most demanding artistic criteria.
