Rawski Tomasz
Born in 1984 in Opole. Classical and light music percussionist. His music education began at the age of 10 at the 1st degree State Music School in Prudnik, and continued at the 1st and 2nd degree State Music School in Opole, where he completed his secondary education with distinction. In 2004 he obtained his BA degree in percussion at the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice in the class of Stanisław Proksa, where he currently is pursuing his doctorate studies.
Tomasz is a member and activist of the Percussion Association of Opole, through which he became involved in organising percussion festivals. During the 12th International Percussion Festival in Opole (2003) he appeared with his own recital “Marimba – Vibraphone”. He has won prizes at many competitions and percussion auditions, and took part in the 5th International Marimbaphone Competition in Stuttgart (2008). So far, he has worked with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, J. Elsner Philharmonic in Opole, Silesian Philharmonic, New Music Orchestra, AUKSO Chamber Orchestra, YMISO International Symphony Orchestra, Opole Percussion Group, A. Smolka Puppet and Actor Theatre in Opole (where he received an award for his music for the Drums – 4 dance/s/show at the International Puppet Theatre Festival, Toruń 2007) and the S. Wyspiański Silesian Theatre in Katowice.
As a light music player he works with the DeTrebles ensemble, where he plays Latin percussion instruments, and with the EnoWeno ensemble, where he plays the musical entertainment set.
Participating in percussion courses and workshops has been an important element in the development of his skills. At present he lives in Silesia, devoting his energies to perfecting his professional skills, teaching and research.
