Romańczuk Paweł
Born in 1975, he is a musician and composer. Since 2006 he has been collecting miniature instruments. He has authored music for film and theatre. He builds his own instruments, sound construction and installations. He runs workshops, presentation, lectures and organises exhibitions around instruments and experimental sound. In 2010, he wrote a book about toy pianos, the first of this kind in the world dedicated to the history and development of that instrument, including its dedicated repertoire, artists who played it, recordings, and competitions. It was written with the cooperation of George Crumb, Margaret Leng Tan, Christopher Hobbs, Steffen Schleiermacher, Isabel Ettenauer, and many others. The book also includes a CD with recordings of the Małe Instrumenty (Small Instruments) group playing the 20 different toy pianos. In June 2012 Paweł Romańczuk in a duo with Piotr Kurek recorded a CD with different versions of John Cage’sMusic for Amplified Toy Pianos.
