Stulgińska, Agnieszka

Born in Ostrołęka, she is a composition graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music, where she studied with Krzysztof Olczak. She continued her education at the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst Lemmensinstituut in Leuven and, as a Belgian government scholarship holder, with Luc van Hove at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp. In addition, she completed a postgraduate course in film music, computer music, and audiovisual composition at the Łódź Academy of Music. 

She has won numerous prizes at composers’ competitions including Composer Alive in Chicago, CCO Composers Showcase in Ithaca, Musiconversations in Texas, Late Night at National Sawdust: a Live Radio Broadcast in New York, 46th Tadeusz Baird Competition, a competition for a multimedia piece for the music@venture festival (Belgium). She has also participated in the four-year programme promoting young composers at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre. 

Agnieszka Stulgińska likes to work with directors, designers, visual artists and choreographers, with whom she creates various kinds of multimedia projects. Her pieces have been presented by ensembles like Palomar, Neoquartet, Prometheus, Lux:NM, Kwadrofonik, Kwartludium, Lutosławski Piano Duo, I Solisti del Vento, Élise Artoisenet & Marie-Noëlle Bette Piano Duo, Silesian Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw Contemporary Ensemble, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Progress Chamber Orchestra, Hashtag Ensemble, and Radical Polish Ansambl.
