Lehn, Thomas
Pianist and synthesizer player, he studied recording engineering in Detmold and piano in Cologne. He has since dedicated himself to the practice of interpretation and composition in real time. Since the early 1990s he has been performing live electronic music, using analogue synthesizers from the late 1960s. In addition to performing his own electronic music, Thomas Lehn uses synthesizers to interpret electronic compositions by composers such as Bogusław Schaeffer, Éliane Radigue, Peter Jakober, and others. His musical work could be considered a constant endeavour of (re)search and attempt to merge, distillate, reflect, rework, carry on, transform, and transcend individual and collective music history, joining the process of musical creation in various degrees and ways, seeking listening experiences of musical depth.
