is composition started with the idea of manufacturing a quartertone accordion: the first and only such instrument in Poland (and perhaps beyond ) where octaves have 24 divisions throughout the range. the accordion was built simultaneously with the composition of the work. I thus could not touch or test that instrument, as work on it finished merely four days before circulatio's first performance in Łódź in November 2015. In order to achieve a coherent timbre and harmony, most instruments in the orchestra were prepared to play in nonequal temperaments. the work was composed for Leszek Kołodziejski and Eneasz Kubit, accordionists from Łódź with whom I have collaborated for many years.
