Tomaszczyk, Michał

Trombonist, composer, arranger, music producer and educator, he graduated from the jazz trombone class and composition & arrangement class at the Music Academy in Katowice. He lectures in big band and trombone at the International Jazz Workshops in Chodzież and the F. Chopin State Music School Complex in Warsaw.

He has founded and leads the Biotone quartet and Conglomerate Big Band. He was nominated to the 2011 Fryderyk awards in Jazz Debut of the Year for Biotone's recording Unspoken Words and was awarded a Golden Record for the project Albo Inaczej (Or Else), to which he contributed as trombonist, conductor, arranger, music producer, and composer. He held the Young Poland scholarship from the Polish Minister of Culture, and won numerous awards in Poland and abroad for instrumental playing, composition, and ensemble. As a sideman and arranger he has worked with many ensembles and soloists in jazz, Latin, avant-garde, rap, folk, and pop music. He has contributed to film and TV features music recordings, and participated in many festivals in Poland and abroad.
