Donato, François
At first self-taught, he studied with Guy Manneveau, MarieFrançoise Lacaze, and Marie-Noëlle Moyal at the University of Pau (1984-87), with Jean Schwaz at the ENM in Gennevilliers (1987-89), and at the Conservatoire in Lyon (1989-90). He also studied at the Technical University of Berlin on a DAAD grant (1999-2000). In 1991-2005 he was responsible for the musical production of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (Paris) before settling in Toulouse where he currently manages the technical coordination for the collective of composers éOle. From 2007 till 2012, he was a lecturer on sound and interactivity at the University of Toulouse Mirail.
He has cooperated with dance and theatre ensembles such as Pal Frenak, Coda Norma, and Hypothèse Théâtre, and has worked since 2011 with composer Hervé Birolini on live performances. His predominantly acousmatic music has been commissioned notably by GRM, DAAD, and the French Ministry of Culture. Since 2015, he has developed the audiovisual interactive work Lumina Fiction with visual artist Golnaz Behrouznia. is project has been hosted by several digital arts festivals and is still evolving today.
