Korsun, Anna

Born in Donetsk, Ukraine in 1986, she studied the piano at Dzerzhinsk School of Music (2000-4), participating in various concerts and competitions as both pianist and vocalist. In 2004-9 she studied musicology and composition at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kyiv. She is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und eater in Munich with Moritz Eggert.

She has appeared as a composer and performer at various concerts and festivals, such as the Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt, Musikfest der Münchner Gesselscha für Neue Musik, Lange Nacht der Musik (Munich), Junge Solisten (Munich), Season's Premieres, Kyiv Music Fest, Youth Forum, Gogolfest (Kyiv), Young Composers (Lviv), Tax Free: Territory of Young Composers, From Avant-garde to Our Days (St. Petersburg), Exposition II (Nizhny Novgorod), Éclat (Stuttgart), ISCM, and Warsaw Autumn. She has also participated in competitions such as the National Grand Prize in Lviv (2004) in which she was a prizewinner, and the Step to the Le competition in St. Petersburg in which she was a nalist (2008). Her work Landscapes for five voices was a nalist of the 2011 Gaudeamus Music Week. She has also taken part in workshops and masterclasses with ensemble recherche, Jon Appleton, Pascal Dusapin, Sandeep Bhagwati, Aventa Ensemble, and Helmut Lachenmann. She has held scholarships from Donaueschinger Musiktage (2009), Stockhausen Concerts and Courses in Kürten (2009), and Baltic Youth Philharmonic in Kaunas (2011). In 2011 she was commissioned a new chamber piece by the Kulturkreis Gasteig in Munich.
