Ociepka, Grzegorz

Actor and theatre director, born in 1961 in Bytom. Between 1982 and 2012 he worked notably at the Zagłębie Children’s Theatre in Będzin, Guliwer Theatre in Warsaw, and Animation Theatre in Poznań. Since 1991, he runs his own theatre with guest productions.

He directs plays for children and the youth, including SaintExupéry’s The Little Prince, Izabela Degórska’s A Tale of Happiness, and Jan Wilkowski’s Tymoteusz Rymcimcim. He has also written scripts and texts for children’s plays, including A Recipe for Courage, A Vitamin Adventure, and Santa Claus’s Golden Bell. He has appeared in a TV adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray’s The Rose and The Ring. He also participates in musical projects, such as Jarosław Siwiński’s Variations and Changelings, Marcin Sompoliński’s The Phantom of the Orchestra, and Kalisz Philharmonic concerts directed by Adam Klocek, including a performance of Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. He also runs workshops for children, teachers, and theatre instructors, including in cooperation with the Polish Society for Contemporary Music, in Children’s Arts Centre in Poznań, and the Voivodeship Library in Poznań. He sits in juries of reciting competitions and drama reviews of all levels.
