The objective of this workshop is to show how instrumental sounds are transformed live via a computer. The authors—composer and sound engineer Wojciech Błażejczyk, cello and accordion virtuosos Magdalena Bojanowicz and Maciej Frąckiewicz— will take children on a sound voyage from the familiar to the totally extraordinary. Young participants of the workshop will learn different techniques of computer sound processing, space creation, and sound control. They will find out how to stretch, freeze, loop, accelerate, modulate, switch, lower, filter, or cut a sound, and even disintegrate it into a cloud of sound particles. They will also learn how these actions can be used by composers to make music, and will have the opportunity to try these techniques on their own.
