Sinfonia concertante - Lidia Zielińska
I considered adding a subheading: “Małość dźwięków”—“The smallness of sounds,” but in Polish “małość” also means the lack of any noble qualities, whereas the microcosm of little sounds is wonderful and fascinating. I was looking for those sounds among small everyday objects, especially in their resonators. Simple contact microphones have only been used to amplify those sounds to an audible range, and to enhance the spatial relations between the sounds. The sounds have not been submitted, however, to any electronic transformations. These sounds really contain a veritable microcosm of nuances, though our ears are not sensitive enough to perceive those details without “bugs” attached to the sound-producing objects.
