soprano, she began her studies with Pedro Telles and graduated under José de Oliveira Lopes from the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto. She held a merit scholarship for her Masters’ degree in musical performance at the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Porto, where she studied with António Salgado and Sofia Serra. In 2010/11 she was one of the singers of the Flanders Operastudio in Ghent, with the support of the Leonardo da Vinci’s Programme and the Belgian Robus Foundation. Her other accolades include the 1st Prize at Prémio Jovens Músicos RTP/Antena 2 (2012), V. Starkova Award at the Pustina International Competition (Czech Republic, 2012), 2nd Prize and Best Interpretation of Portuguese Song Award at the 5th Portuguese Rotary Foundation Competition (2011) and Youngest Finalist Award at the Luciano Neroni Competition (2009).
She frequently performs opera and oratorio roles in Portugal and abroad, working regularly with conductor Marc Tardue and pianist Olga Amaro in the chamber repertoire.
In 2010 her first CD João Arroyo: complete work for voice and piano (Marina Pacheco & Joana David) was released by Phonedition Records. Her second album, Lemuria’s Songs (works composed for the duo Marina Pacheco and Olga Amaro by Portuguese composers) will be released at the end of 2013.
