Polakowska Izabela

Born in Wrocław, she studied the violin at high school level and is a graduate of the Department of Music Education at the Music Academy in Wrocław where she continues her studies in conducting. She has participated in many masterclasses and courses for choral and orchestral conductors, including with Jacek Kaspszyk, Łukasz Borowicz, Bob Chilcott and Paul McCreesh. In 2007–12, she was assistant director of the Medici Cantantes choir at the Medical University in Wrocław. In 2010, she founded the School Complex No. 14 Choir in Wrocław. Since 2012, she has been the conductor and artistic director of the Wrocław Opera Children’s Choir, and in 2013 began working with the Polish Radio Choir as choirmaster.

Her many awards include the 1st Prize in the Stonavská Barborka International Vocal Competition. She also performs regularly as a singer in many European countries with such ensembles as the Wrocław Philharmonic Choir and the Wratislavia Cantans Festival Choir.
