Con tensione (Stanisław Bromboszcz)
A quick narrative, intense expression, rough edges, contrasts, a sharp sonority, “clashing“ motives and chords. These are the expressive and aesthetic qualities I wanted to put into this music. The title, Con tensione, is a performance indication that mirrors the character of the piece and suggests a way of interpreting it. It should evoke a type of playing in constant tension, full of anxiety. Performance markings and descriptive indications included in the score suggest that the performer should sharply articulate sudden accents, radically change dynamics, and emphasise the obsessive repetition of pitches and chords.
