Liebchen Ewa
Flautist and chamber ensemble player, graduate of Accademia Italiana del Flauto (2002) in the flute class of Raymond Guiot, and graduate of the F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in the flute class of Jadwiga Kotnowska (2005). During masterclasses at home and abroad she has had the opportunity to work with such flautists as Grzegorz Olkiewicz, Michael Martin Kofler, Pierre-Ives Artaud, Aurèle Nicolet, Riccardo Ghiani, Nicola Mazanti and William Bennett. She has won prizes at national and international music competitions, both as a soloist and as a chamber ensemble player. She has been awarded scholarships by such bodies as the Cultural Foundation, ZAiKS authors’ association, Top Wind and Accademia Musicale Chigiana. On two occasions she has been a winner in the “Young Poland” Scholarship Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
For the past two years she has been part of the flute duo Flute o’Clock, specialising in contemporary music, including the most recent music, using a wide range of instruments, from bass and alto flutes up to piccolo. In May 2010 the ensemble released its first disc, with twentieth-century masterpieces for two flutes, on the DUX label. The album Now was awarded a distinction by the monthly “Hi-Fi i Muzyka” for the Record of the Year 2010, and was nominated for the 2011 Fryderyk Award in the category of Phonographic Debut of the Year.
