Sudnik Tadeusz
Sound director, performer, composer, founder of the Studio of Impossible Sounds. He creates multimedia spectacles and jam sessions. For a number of years he worked for the Polish Radio Experimental Studio, recording electronic music, and music for theatre, film and ballet. At the same time he gave concerts in Europe and recorded discs with renowned jazz musicians, such as Tomasz Stańko’s Freelectronic ensemble in the 1980s. He has worked for many years with the Warsaw Autumn festival and with the Polish Society for Contemporary Music. He composed the music for the ballet Pejzaż nocą (Landscape by Night) for the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, and designed the sound for The Heartpiece – Double Operaby Krzysztof Knittel and John King, shown in The Kitchen gallery in New York. His interests include playing live the analogue synthesizer, groovebox and electronic processing devices; he also makes use of the sounds of nature. Currently he plays with the following ensembles: Adam Pierończyk’s Digivooco with Gary Thomas, Park Maszynowy with Włodek Kiniorski, Analogics with Wojciech Konikiewicz, Koncert Figur Niemożliwych with Andrzej Mitan, Interakcje with Krzysztof Knittel and Joined Forces with Paweł Prochnowski. He has also played with Sonny Sharock, Peter Giger, Do Um Romao, Antymos Apostolis, Helmut Nadolski, Andrzej Przybielski, Gunnar Geise and others. He took part in Tomasz Stańko’s most recent concert project, Peyotl3.
In 2003 he recorded a disc and toured Europe with Adam Pierończyk’s AMUSOS ensemble, and played together with musicians from all over the world with the Transylvaniana ensemble, led by percussionist Maurice de Martin (Berlin). In 2004 Tomasz Stańko’s Freelectronic formation began to give concerts again.
