Born in 1982, she developed her composition skills at academies in Wrocław, Graz and Frankfurt am Main, where her teachers included Beat Furrer, Pierluigi Billone and Wolfgang Rihm. She has taken part in numerous masterclasses, such as Acanthes, Voix Nouvelles, and the Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt.
Her music has featured in the programmes of such festivals as the Warsaw Autumn, Sacrum Profanum (Cracow), KODY (Lublin), Musica Polonica Nova, Musica Electronica Nova (Wrocław), ENSEMS (Valencia), International Courses for New Music in Darmstadt, Donaueschinger Musiktage (Off-Programm), Ohren auf Europa (Düsseldor f), Tokyo Experimental Festival, and IREAM (Lisbon). Performances of her works also took place at ZKM Karlsruhe, the SWR Experimental Studio at Freiburg im Breisgau, Abbaye de Royaumont (Paris) and Akademie der Künste (Berlin).
She has received scholarships from numerous foundations and institutions, including ÖAAD, DAAD, Alfred Toepfer-Stiftung, Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, City of Wrocław, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2011, as part of her residency at ZKM Karlsruhe, she produced the work Watch out! of the box. In the same year she was awarded the “Staubach Honorary” (awarded by the International Music Institute in Darmstadt) and Wolfgang-Rihm-Stipendium. This year she is working at La Muse en Circuit in Paris on an electroacoustic installation for Abbaye de Royaumont. In 2013 she will be composer-inresidence at Herrenhaus Edenkoben.
In her works, the composer combines sound, visual, spatial, textual and staged elements as an integral part of the music. Prior to becoming a composer she studied art history, philosophy and music theory, which resulted in a deep interest in the humanities and became the foundation of her music.
