Sadkowska Dagna
Graduate of the Music Academy in Warsaw in the violin class of Krzysztof Bąkowski, co-founder and member of the Kwartludium ensemble, soloist and chamber musician. Her achievements include numerous performances and premieres of works by contemporary Polish and foreign composers, such as Magdalena Długosz, Krzysztof Knittel, Aleksander Lasoń, Aleksander Gryka, Wojciech Ziemowit Zych, Laurence Moss, Salvatore Sciarrino, Bernard Cavanna, Toshio Hosokawa and others.
She has given concerts at festivals such as the Festival of First Performances in Katowice, Warsaw Autumn, Jazz Festival of Improvised Music in Katowice, Music Seismograph III, Laboratory of Contemporary Music, Flying Academy of Contemporary Music, New Sounds in Gdańsk, Ad Libitum and Audio Art. For a number of years she has also been actively involved in improvised music. As part of the “plain music” project she has appeared with such performers as John Edwards, Le Quaninh, John Tilbury, Axel Dorner, Thomas Lahn, DJLenar and others. She is a recipient of the “Young Poland” scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Haritage.
For the last 15 years she has been involved in music teaching at primary and secondary levels. She has created an authorial programme of music therapy activities and an authorial extension of the syllabus for schoolchildren aged 10–12. For many years she has been running creative workshops for children and young people (at the Museum of Literature, House of Creative Art in Wigry, Theatre Institute), based both on her many years’ experience of working with schoolchildren, and her practical experience as a chamber musician and soloist. She is this year ’s winner of the scholarship of the City of Warsaw.
