Bielawski Andrzej
Born in 1949 in Miłosna near Warsaw. He studied at the Graphic Art Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw during the years 1967–73. During 1982–83 he was an assistant at the graphics workshop of the Department of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1991, together with Teresa Starzec, he founded the Fundacja Atelier in Warsaw, and the following year they established a School for Drawing and Painting, in which they both conduct classes.
In 2008 he received a doctorate in visual arts.
He spent a period at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam on a scholarship from the Dutch government (1981); also at the Atelierhaus Worpswede in Germany (1985–86), at the George Washington University and at the Central and Eastern European Art Foundation in Washington (1991). His main interests include painting, graphic art, drawing, photography and teaching. He lives in Warsaw.
