Fiugajski Przemysław
Conductor, playwright and librettist. His debut work, Bernhard Variations, won the drama competition at the EuroDrama festival in Wrocław (2004) and was then staged by the Polski Theatre in Wrocław, Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, and the A. Mickiewicz Theatre in Częstochowa. In 2008 his Niepogoda duszy (Bad Soul Weather), written with a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, was commended at the “Metaphors of Reality“ competition organised by the Polski Theatre in Poznań. His third play, Drama Situations, was shortlisted for the Gdynia Drama Award in 2009. He has also written the libretto for Dariusz Przybylski’s chamber opera Voices from the Water that competed in the final of the 2010 Berliner Opernpreise competition. Przemysław Fiugajski’s other works include monodramas Salma and Lunar Pierrot. In his works, he keenly makes fun of his own protagonists, making them utter absurd points of view and embarrassing opinions on art, life, people, and the universe.
