Rogiewicz, Jerzy

Born in 1983 in Bygdoszcz. Percussionist, composer, pianist, vocalist, conductor, musician, human being. He made his debut in the Levity jazz trio, with which he recorded three albums. He has performed with artists such as Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Toshinori Kondo, DJ Lenar, Wojtek Mazolewski, Tomasz Duda, and Paweł Szamburski. Since 2010 he has been a regular collaborator of Marcin Masecki, notably in the Ragtajmy duo, a jazz trio, and various ensembles including Profesjonalizm, Polonezy, V/TLD or Jazz Band Młynarski-Masecki. Author of music for theatre and film, e.g. to Marcin Sauter’s film Zhalanashor Bartosz Konopka’s The Blood of God. 2018 saw the release of his album Christmas Carols for solo percussion. An important place is his oeuvre is occupied by music for children. 

Jerzy Rogiewicz collaborates as a composer with Nowy Teatr’s Little Orchestra and is the founder of the Jerz Igor ensemble, in which he plays Baroque-pop songs for children with Igor Nikiforow. June 2019 was marked by the premiere of his piece King Matt I for orchestra, choir and solo voices to words by Grzegorz Uzdański, commissioned by the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
