Commissioned by Warsaw Autumn, this piece is the next episode in the cycle of "new materialist" compositions (with titles notated in the international phonetic alphabet), which are focused on corpor(e)al, strictly sensual perception of the material. is extension of the study of form-as-a-process, form-as-a-situation, form-as-an-object and form-as-a-stimulant which I proposed for the first time in L'Atelier de sensorité for prepared cello and large ensemble (2015), takes a different, much more intimate form here. It is accomplished thanks to factoring out timbral nuances of the four instruments, seen as through a microscope. It is a multimodal, synaesthetic mapping of sound plasticity, observation of vibrations in objects and bodies in their very physical form.
