Kielar-Długosz, Agata

is a Polish flutist. She graduated with honours from the Music Academy in Cracow as well as the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, before following postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar and Yale University. She participated in masterclasses run notably by Peter-Lukas Graf, James Galway, Jeanne Baxtresser, Jean-Claude Gérard, Jacques Zoon, Peter Lloyd, and Ransom Wilson.

She is a prizewinner of Polish and international flute competitions including the Friedrich Kuhlau Competition in Uelzen, 2nd Prize at the Premio Città di Padova, 2nd Prize and Special Award at Internazione Flautistica in Ovada, Special Prize at the Timișoara Competition, and 3rd Prize at the Leonardo De Lorenzo Competition in Viggiano.

Active as a soloist and chamber musician both in Poland and abroad, she has given many first performances of flute works dedicated to her by foreign and Polish composers including Paweł Mykietyn, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, and Piotr Moss.

She was the first flutist in the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra and also worked for the Munich Chamber Orchestra at the Bach Collegium in Munich. She performed under conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Mariss Jansons, Colin Davis, Jacek Kaspszyk, Jerzy Maksymiuk, and Helmuth Rilling.

She received many prizes and scholarships for her outstanding achievements, including from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Live Music Now, Fulbright Comission, DAAD, KAAD, All Flutes Plus, Jeunesses Musicales, Top Wind, and Zurich Music Foundation.

She lectures at the Music Academy in Cracow and has obtained a PhD in musical arts in 2013.
