CHAIN ENSEMBLE
Chamber orchestra under the patronage of the Witold Lutosławski Society, it gathers creative, energetic, experienced musicians who contribute to significant musical events in Poland. The ensemble focuses on education, inviting talented young musicians and organising music workshops. It also develops new concert formulas, nurturing a closer relationship between performers and audiences.
Chain Ensemble is committed to reinstate the interest of audiences in modern music. That interest gradually withered throughout the twentieth century, and concert programmes have been dominated by the music of past eras. “Classical” music is now identified with past music, whereas “modern music” is often associated with popular or amateur one. This state of affairs partly stems from a lack of emphasis on the value and significance of music for young people’s development at every stage of education. Chain Ensemble thus endeavours to fill that gap and return current music to the educational and concert mainstream.
