Banaszak, Adam
Conductor. He studied with Marcin Sompoliński at the Music Academy in Poznań, and followed masterclasses taught by Dejan Savić and Bernard Haitink. In 2011 he made his operatic debut conducting Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, Verdi’s Traviata, and Mozart’s Don Giovanni. He has later conducted such productions as Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Polski Theatre in Poznań at the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival), Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers, Kálmán’s Die Csárdásfürstin, Loewe’s My Fair Lady, Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate, Herman’s Hello, Dolly!, Wildhorn’s Jekyll & Hyde (Music Theatre in Poznań), and Bock’s Fiddler on the Roof (Białystok Opera). He has been director of L’Autunno Chamber Orchestra since 2006, presenting notably Schoenberg’s Pierrot lunaire (National Museum in Poznań, 2011), Stravinsky’s L‘Histoire du soldat (Polski Theatre in Poznań, 2012) and the Polish premiere of Tigran Mansurian’s Requiem (Nostalgia Festival, 2014). He has also coached orchestras for concerts by artists such as Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras, Montserrat Caballé, and Plácido Domingo. His appearances have been broadcast on Polish TVP Kultura, TVP2, TV Polonia, Radio Merkury, and Radio Berlin-Brandenburg.
