Konieczny, Łukasz
Singer (bass). He graduated from the Music Academy in Wrocław (2009), completed acting courses at the International Film School in Cologne, and took part in numerous masterclasses with Christian Elssner, Deborah Polaski, David Syrus, Linda Watson, and Franz Grundheber. He made his debut as Polyphemus in Handel’s Acis and Galatea with the Wiener Akademie under Martin Haselböck at the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg Festival (2010). In 2009–11 he sang at the Opernstudio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, where he has been soloist since 2011. His repertoire includes more than 50 operatic roles, including Sarastro in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Rocco in Beethoven’s Fidelio, and Polyphemus in Handel’s Acis and Galatea. He took part in the premiere performances of Paweł Mykietyn’s St Mark Passion during the Wratislavia Cantans and Warsaw Autumn festivals. He regularly performs concert repertoire, including the bass parts in Stravinsky’s Les noces (2013 Ruhr Piano Festival) and in Penderecki’s A Polish Requiem (2014 Polish Music Festival in Cracow). He won a Special Award at the International Song Competition in Istanbul (2010).
