Gadt, Anna

Singer and composer. She graduated from the Department of Jazz and Popular Music at the Music Academy in Katowice (2006). She has released three CDs: On My Way, Still I Rise and Breathing. On that last album, each of the musicians equally contributes to the sound of the whole, mostly in the form of solo improvisations. Anna Gadt is currently finishing her work on two new releases: one inspired by Polish Renaissance music, the other developing the idea of improvised sonoristic music based on the performers’ individual themes. She has won the Jazz Struggle international competition (2006). She has appeared in prestigious concert halls in Poland (including the Grand Theatre – National Opera and Agnieszka Osiecka Polish Radio Music Studio) as well as internationally. She teaches at the Music Academy in Katowice.
