Cybulski, Krzysztof
Born in 1980, bassist, composer, creator of digital sound tools, instruments, and interactive installations. He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice in jazz composition and arrangement.
He is active as a performer and improviser, using his own instruments and software. In 2010, he founded the new media group panGenerator, which works notably with the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Copernicus Science Centre, National Audiovisual Institute, Krzysztof Wodiczko, and Niklas Roy, presenting its works notably at the Ars Electronica, Node, and Biennale WRO festival.
Krzysztof Cybulski was finalist and twice semifinalist of the prestigious Margaret Guthman Instrument Design Competition at the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He has presented his activities at festivals such as Warsaw Autumn, Ad Libitum, Instalakcje, New Music Days, and Biennale WRO. He has cooperated notably with Krzysztof Knittel, Anna Zaradny, Sławomir Wojciechowski, Mikołaj Pałosz, and Michał Górczyński.
He is the cofounder of postrock group Lomi Lomi, related to the Lado ABC recording company, and the improvising trio Cybulski–Pałosz–Wojciechowski. He has received two commissions from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Institute of Music and Dance within the Compositional Commissions programme, and has been featured three times in the Adam Mickiewicz Institute programme Polish Culture in the World. He has authored music–technological initiatives including Acoustic Additive Synth, Feedback Synth, and Spectral Score with the use of multiinstrumentalists from various communities.
