Lelek, Aleksandra

She graduated with honours from the cello class of Zdzisław Łapiński at the Music Academy in Cracow. She also studied with Julius Berger at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum in Augsburg. Currently she is studying with Jeroen Reuling at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels. She has participated in workshops conducted by such eminent tutors as Arto Noras, Gary Hoffman and Frans Helmerson. She has won several competitions and special awards both in Poland and abroad, including twice the 1st Prize for the best music academy student in Poland. As a soloist, she has performed under masters such as Krzysztof Penderecki and Jerzy Maksymiuk, as well as with Sofia Gubaidulina and Julius Berger at a Kronberg Academy concert (recorded on the CD 4 for Peace). She has appeared at festivals including ISA PragWienBudapest (special awards for the best string soloist and best performance), Young Talent Festival in Schiermonnikoog, Morningside Music Bridge in Canada (best performer award), Wawel at Dusk, Ohrid Summer Festival (Macedonia), Viana Summer Festival (Portugal), and Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander (Spain). Her artistic achievements were recognised with an Artistic Scholarship from the City of Cracow. Since 2014, she is a PhD student at the Music Academy in Cracow.
