Zemler, Hubert

Percussionist, composer and improviser, active on Warsaw’s independent and experimental music scene. He graduated in percussion from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 2004.

His experience comes from many years’ exploration of radically different musical worlds, from improvised and experimental through classical and contemporary to jazz and ethnic music. One of Hubert Zemler’s solo concerts was recorded and released in 2012 under the Lado ABC label as Moped. In October 2014 there followed a studio album, Gostak & Doshes (Bôłt Records). Hubert Zemler has collaborated with artists such as Evan Ziporyn, Gyan Riley, Agustí Fernández, Felix Kubin, Tadeusz Wielecki, Ryszard Latecki, Piotr Kurek, Raphael Rogiński, Wacław Zimpel, Paweł Szpura, Miłosz Pękala, Mitch & Mitch band, Kwadrofonik ensemble, and the Mud Cavaliers. In 2009 he won the bronze medal of the international Delphiade (artistic Olympics) in Korea, in the category of solo percussion. He has given concerts throughout Europe, as well as in the United States, Turkey, Middle East, South Korea, and Japan.
