This is an orchestral version of a piece for chamber ensemble under the same title, performed by the Esbjerg Ensemble in 2014. The composition was inspired by a painting by Wilhelm Hammershøi, an artist active at the turn of the nineteenth century. Interiør does not translate picture into sound. Rather, it is an attempt at grasping the emotional space appearing between Hammershøi’s painting of an interior and the viewer visiting the museum.
