Dzikość instrumentów (Wildness of Instruments) (Michał Górczyński)
The workshop, recommended for children aged 8–12, will make the participants more aware of various types of musical expression and of the topic of instrument preparation. It will reveal the sound potential of instruments using the clarinet as the example. Lumbering elephants, swift gazelles, deadly scorpions and cobras will all be illustrated by an appropriate musical expression – from the calm music of minimalism, through the motoric sounds of Wolfgang Rihm, to uncontrolled punk music. Preparation and movement will help participants perceive and find the relationship between the world of animals and contemporary music. The children will prepare the instruments (flutes will be handed out) themselves and practise expression.
