Moss, David
Considered as one of the most innovative singers performing contemporary music, he sings both solo and with theatre companies from New York’s Lincoln Center to Teatro La Fenice in Venice to Brisbane. In 1991 he won a Guggenheim scholarship, and in 1992 a DAAD scholarship. He sung with the Berlin Philharmonic under Simon Rattle and made his Carnegie Hall debut with the American Composers Orchestra. During the Salzburg festivals, he interpreted the parts of Nino in Luciano Berio’s Cronaca del luogo and Prince Orlofsky in the controversial adaptation of Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus.
This year David Moss celebrates 25 years of his work in Europe with an all-year international concert tour. In the academic year 2016/17 he will also work in the Interweaving Performance Cultures International Research Center in Berlin.
David Moss was the artistic director of MADE Festival in Umeå (Sweden), as well as cofounder and artistic director of the Institute for Living Voice, which has organised international courses, workshops and seminars since 2001. He performs with Denseland electronic music trio and Technologies ensemble.
