Kozłowski, Krzysztof
Born 1985 in Warsaw, he studied sound engineering at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw (2005–08). During that period he produced sound for short films and commercials as well as on set.
In 2013 he completed piano studies with Anna Jastrzębska-Quinn at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University. Also in 2013 he won the 1st Prize at the Milosz Magin Piano Competition in Paris and was named Youth Stage Winner at the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk. In 2016 he completed postgraduate piano studies with Andrzej Jasiński at the Music Academy in
Katowice. Simultaneously with his piano studies, he completed the Inter-University Multimedia Programme run by the Department of Sound Engineering at the Warsaw Music Academy. He designs and programmes interactive audiovisual installations. He is also active as a piano improviser. Member of Hashtag Ensemble, for the last several years he has given concerts with two improvising composers: Bartosz Kowalski and Wojciech Błażejczyk, with whom he appears as Sonofrenia electroacoustic trio, cocreating free improvisations (also for his own visualisations and films) and taking part in premiere performances of works by contemporary composers. With Sonofrenia, Krzysztof Kozłowski has given concerts notably at the Musica Moderna festival in Łódź (2009), Audio Art festival at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw (2011), and Warsaw Autumn (2013). He is also a member of Hashtag Ensemble’s #ART association, which promotes Polish and foreign 20thand 21st-century music.
Krzysztof Kozłowski works as a répétiteur and accompanist for the Warsaw University of Technology’s Song and Dance Company, as well as the R. Turczynowicz State Ballet School in Warsaw. His hobbies include astronomy, programming, science subjects, cycling, and motoring.
