Colombo, Lorenzo

born in 1990, he graduated from the percussion class of Andrea Dulbecco at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire in Milan.
Winner of the National Arts Award (2011) and the Yamaha Competition (2013), he has performed at numerous festivals, including the Bicentennial Conservatory, I Concerti nel Chiostro, Musica al Castello Sforzesco, Sere d’Estate al Museo at the Museo Diocesano in Milan, Musica Futura, and the Rencontres Musicales de Méditerranée in Corsica.

He performs both as a soloist and a chamber musician, including the Colombo–Paletta and Colombo–D’Erasmo duos and the Tunsteno Quartet, as well as with orchestral ensembles such as I Pomeriggi Musicali, Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire Symphony and contemporary music ensembles Sentieri Selvaggi and Divertimento. With the New Milan Percussion Ensemble, he has performed the world premiere of OTOT by Yuval Avital.

He is the founder of the Colombo–Paletta Duo, performing works for vibraphone and marimba from contemporary to jazz. In a decade of intense activity as a drummer, he has performed in several European countries, and has made recordings in the United States in 2011.
