Dandarvaanchig, Enkhjargal

(nickname Epi)

– Mongolian pastoral and diaphonic tradition
Born in Ulan Bator, Mongolia in 1968, he is considered to be one of greatest living musicians of the morin huur Mongolian fiddle and the overtone/throat singing techniques harhiraa, höömii, and choomie. Because of his family background, Epi is deeply rooted into the traditional and nomadic way of life of Mongolia.
In 1993, Epi travelled for the first time outside of Mongolia; since then he has mainly lived in Europe and performed worldwide. His knowledge of the Mongolian tradition, together with his curiosity for all kinds of different music, lets him step between different cultural worlds.
